One of the three guardian objects of Alusia and the only one that can be removed from the land. It is carved from a Durnlow horn. It is carried by the true kings of Athanor and Alusia “as a sign of their nobility and right to rule” (2:24) and can only be sounded by a true king.
It was lost a century ago when a young prince took it with him on an adventure to Norsland, from which his company never returned. (They were destroyed when they wrongly sought the power of the Tower of the Moon.) It was discovered in the Tower of the Moon on Alex’s second adventure and returned to Alusia. Alex used the Horn to show who the true king was, and made the king promise to sound the horn twice a year so that all of Alusia knows there is a true king.
